The Infra-Red Double Flame Detector (IR²) explosion is created to protect explosive areas where lights can be declared. It detects all types of flames comprising hydrocarbon fires or the invisible hydrogen lights. The IR² is sensitive to low-frequency infrared radiation that can be emitted during combustion and even if the lens is obstructed by a layer of oil, dust, water, steam or ice. It has two infra-red sensors that meet different infrared waves to differentiate flames and sources of parasitic radiation. False alarms caused by sun rays are avoided through a filter combination and technical signal processing.
